What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation primarily of musculoskeletal (muscle, joint, tendon, ligament and nerve) complaints. Using many of the diagnostic procedures applied in conventional medical assessment, osteopathy seeks to restore optimal functioning of the body and aid its intrinsic ability to heal.
What to expect on your First Visit:
At your first consultation for Osteopathy with Posture Dynamics, a detailed history will be taken reviewing your past and current symptoms (including general medical details). You may be asked to remove some clothing so that a full postural assessment can be made. This will include a static evaluation and simple mobility testing to assess how your whole body relates mechanically to your complaint. We will then focus the examination to the region, which appears to be causing the problem.
Where and when necessary we can organize specialist investigations such as x-rays or M.R.I. scans quickly, and obtain necessary reports before discussing them with you. These investigations may assist the diagnosis. We work closely with number of recognised consultants who are able to assist with further help and treatment should this be required.
We listen closely, examine and then explain our diagnoses and recommendations in a clear and simple manner, offering a customised course of treatment that´s right for you.
